so, had a chat with Michelin (Graeme - excellent support thankyou) and the PS4 Sport is indeed taking over the PSS as is obvious really.

That said it was repeatedly stated that PSS is not going away in a hurry and PS4S is only available in a very limited range so far. Plus there is no information about an acoustic foam lined version at all yet.

The good news though is that PSS is available in the UK in TO (Tesla Original fit) version with the acoustic lining presumably to match the Contisilents. Previously I have only found the non-acoustic version.

~Not cheap though iro 245/35/21 GBP300 and 265/35/21 GBP350

Contisilents a bit cheaper but the life is about 30-50% less in my experience than the PSS, plus the PSS is a much better tyre from a feel/handling perspective imo although in extreme wet there is not much to choose between them. So, overall not a whole load to differentiate in cost per mile.

The decision before was bascially road noise vs handling, now Michelin appear to have addressed the road noise issue (the PSS are quite a noisy tyre) they appear to have taekn a step ahead for now.

Contisilent 6P in sight?

If you want to ensure you get the exact yyre quoted, the Michelin codes for the TO PSS Acoustic tyres are
245/35/21 439687
265/35/21 724045
