Same issue,
Honestly seeing how this works I'm not too sure if I like it.

So the thought is every command we issue goes back to a server to decipher then back to the car to issue the command. Not all that crazy relying on this as we can see now, sever overloads or just bad cellular service will affect this kind of thing.

I kind of hope it's just a bug in the firmware and this is not the case.

my guess, just a guess, is that any new unrecognized command or word is sent out (lte or wifi if its up). once its resolved, it would be cached. I would. any software person would. lte is not something you count on, not 100%. we want it to be, but that's just not reality. so, you have to write apps (that run on the car) as if the network is not 100% up. I'm sure they use lots of cache for all the separate apps.

I'm really surprised about the lakc of specialised media coverage on these issues
This release is a complete fiasco that killed voice commands (none of them works since 2 days here)
It seems to be at least somewhat regional as some here says it started working again for them.

For people in my region (and local tesla owners clubs) it's voice armageddon, absolutely no command works whatsoever ( navigation, glovebox, radio, nothing )

Seems to be the same situation in the Netherlands, I guess it to be a regional/language issue. I'm thinking with reminiscence about cars from our neighbors in the east which seemed to be developed with care :).

Tesla is decades ahead of the "East". I would prefer small glitches bundled with space age tech, than tech that is outdated within 12 months by any other car maker. I believe if you buy a Tesla you should do so with eyes wide open and not grumble whenever a small issue occurs. There you go, that should give someone excuse to start an online fight with me lol :)

BOTH front seat belts fail to latch (unless one pushes the release button first). Scheduled for 13 January visit to distributer in Eden Prairie.

Adjust trunk lid for failure to raise sufficiently

Navigate to xyz - Does not hear or parrot back anything.

I THINK a RADIO ghost inhabits our Model X Radio. We have heard VOICES & music play for a few seconds (1-5) somewhere around the house (NOT INSIDE)... but sounded like from the garage. Day after Christmas my wife and I were blaming each other from separate bed rooms, for waking each other up! We separately even went outside only to hear a distant train and snow plow truck backing up. Then silence. A couple times the MOD-X radio has turned on at inappropriate times under this ghost controller gone mad... while we were driving, but this morning we each lost several hours sleep 1 am to 6 am. I even drove around the neighborhood in search of late parties. Nothing.
As I closed up the X, and it LOCKED the doors, the GPS blurted out instructions for the morning regular route!
Did I catch another maniacal manifestation of Maphisto?

Complaint: The GPS screen does not hold map position.
I like to set the image size/position to display:

(1) The entire route...
(2) The current position enlarged to show complicated in-city roads...
(3) The target location so we can discuss last minute route changes..
(4) Where ever I am, to see possible side trips, or route changes.
(5) On a run through East St. Paul, the GPS decided to route us in the wrong direction about 5 miles.
The problem is, Tesla's GPS map resets where it wants in about 20 seconds.

No alternative routes yet? - - No real time accident or traffic
warnings (Nice to show alternative routes all the time)

Autopilot still has a lot to be desired. It STILL wander around the white lines
unacceptably. If I were a cop following the Model X, I would pull the suspect drunk driver to a test. The X also likes to take a surprise exit (GPS on or off)... Navigation on or off. Better than earlier days, but... still hand holding). SOMETIMES it obeys the speed limit signs. Don't guarantee safe exit speeds!

I have learned to expect this, but not the wife. She won't drive this nutzy carz.

Same problem occurs with setting the heater/ air-conditioning, fan and defog/defrost when driving, especially in Minnesota's changing conditions. One can hardly take their eyes off the road to set something on or off,
when the auto-timer flips the display back to where it was. This is dangerous!
Why not leave it where we set it? Why not implement voice commands (steering wheel button permission):
"TESLA HEATER 80 degrees"
"TESLA FAN on six"
"TESLA BACK SEAT HEAT ON full / medium / low" etc. "Steering wheel heat ON/OFF" -- "Seat heater nut fry"
===
NAVIGATION: "NAVIGATE TO xyz": (only works about 10% of the time). Usually it does not even print the words of the command.

Voice commands to set battery charge start AND STOP TIMES. (I get a better rate after 9 pm until 9 AM the next day.

Voice command to set target level for charging to xx percent. Fiddling with the little tiny arrow is not particularly accurate.

Voice command to switch battery read out from MILES to PERCENT or to KW Hours. Then interface with the recent USAGE rate
in order to give a more accurate estimate of reaching your destination with XX miles
.

At the same time, show the closest charging options!
Real time suggestions for battery life extension...heaters, range mode... route to supercharger, AC, fans, suspension lowering, avoid mountain climbing? headwind? ("NOPE, you ain't gonna make it!!!)

2019.40.50.1 Update: Voice Commands now 100% functional.

Yesterday I was beginning to change my opinion of Tesla. What a difference a day makes! It seems the car needed a good night's sleep. One soft reset may or may not have had an impact. The manual says a Power Off action: Controls > Safety & Security > Power Off - is the same as the car going to sleep when parked, except you are sitting behind the steering wheel. Maybe that did it.

Many theories abound, such as an overload of Tesla servers by eager update recipients. Not enough facts are known to support most of these theories. All I can say is the update now functions, fact, not theory!

Standard Range Plus HW 2.5 FSD

By now there are several YouTube virst looks at this update. The car does everything they mention except for the stop sign and traffic light visualizations. The cones also do not appear, in keeping with HW 2.5-equipped cars.

It's just a software bug. That's part of getting updates like these, you take the risk for the new features. No one forced you guys to accept the update :)

I'm sure they'll fix it in time.

No sweat I already fixed It. And thank you for wisdom of course we're all opportunistic risk takers. I've driven some cars from these guys in the east and their "lane assist" works better than autopilot standart which to me is somewhat annoying. But ok happy NY.

There are as far is I know multiple issues. For me and some other users with non English display settings voice command seized to work completely, for users with English settings there seem to be only minor issues. So calling someone is a huge effort without voice command, mainly because contacts cannot be sorted by first name.

Hi. I fixed it by changing the display language to another language and then back again to the language you're using in the first place.

Today it was failing and then it started working perfectly. What did I do? Nothing at all.

My point is that some of you may be fooled into thinking something you did fixed it, when in reality, it was something unrelated.
