EV fast-charging network across Iowa

From the articles date of July 2019 ... The company plans to build publicly accessible direct current fast-charging stations, with two charging plugs per station, in 15 urban and rural communities. A DC fast-charger, also called a “Level 3” charger, can generally charge an electric vehicle in 20-45 minutes.

MidAmerican Energy is now accepting applications from businesses and community entities in targeted areas that are interested in hosting charging facilities that MidAmerican Energy will purchase, install and maintain. The company will select at least one location in each targeted area.

The Fareway grocery store in Sheldon, Iowa has two 50 kilowatt DC fast chargers in operation now.

Hopefully some announcements for the east side of the state. SE and NE are pretty bare.
According to the article, it sounds like MidAmerican Energy is committed to putting in charging stations about every 50 miles for the areas that they serve. I believe this will include some portions of Illinois too. Once their plan gets going I believe others will follow suit and start building a similar structure for the under served secondary roads. This will be a little nicer to be able to travel other roads beside the interstate and not worry so much about range anxiety.
