Nice, very clean!

One question. Are there 1 or 2 PWs? Can't tell from the angle.

And are you going to run it to "test" it? (Don't answer this!!!)

Since he already has pre installed (and presumably permitted ) Solar, there would not be much harm in running it after city inspection, while waiting for formal PTO. Unlike when you add solar, the utility would only really see usage go "down" if you add a powerwall to existing solar, so I dont think there is much harm or "getting in trouble" with the utility in that circumstance.

If you add solar, and run it for any length of time before PTO, they do see that, as you are likely feeding intro the grid, so thats a bit riskier in "upsetting" the utility. I am fairly risk averse in these sort of things, yet ran my powerwalls overnight to test them when installed, then, turned them off and waited for city inspection (which was about 3 days if I remember), then once we passed city inspection, they went back on and stayed on the entire time.

Formal PTO took another like 6 weeks lol.

Nice install @charlesj !

You have to love that Tesla cares enough to pre-drill connector holes so 2 PWs installed side-by-side have no gap and appear as one. Again, that is one clean install!
They had to drill a hole in the front left side of that back PW, connector about 1" that looks like can flex and then they apply spacer covers over that gap on three sides.

But now I have questions I thought I would remember from past posts.
I don't see the "customize" tab on the iPhone app or how to get there. Hit everything and not there.
Also, I cannot bring up the IP address that the crew used, it seems and the Gateway doesn't show on the wi-fi map.
The range extender was for the solar panel current sensor.
And I need to set it up for notification when grid is down in case I need to reduce house loads on extended grid down.

I guess, looking at the Tesla video at their web site, it is below backup history. I guess it will come later.

Some stuff just takes time to show up.. like 1-4 days or so. to connect to the gateway, you would connect to the SSID that its broadcasting and follow the instructions that tesla has for connecting locally.

Note, the amount that you can change things when logged in locally is very minimal.

I posted a link from tesla's site in another thread here recently that talks about logging into the gateway, ill re post it here for you

EDIT... here you go Connecting to Tesla Gateway | Tesla Support

Thanks. It went over my head when I was looking at that list of explanations where it is. ;)

The grid out test was super. Switched over to battery fast enough that the oven, micro, and phone answering device didn't need resetting.
They usually dropped off with just a flicker of an outage. This is great.

Well, I searched the site for how to find "storm watch" setting and turn it on but no luck
Is this in the Gateway setting or can I do it from iphone app?
Not critical here in Monterey but...

Should be in the app - under the "customize" option for me (Android app, but I assume same.)
Thanks. That is what I thought as well but not there, not under that title anyway.
I do have that "customize" with:
backup only; self-powered" with reserve settings; "advanced;" and "vehicle charging during power outage."
Perhaps the "storm watch" option comes later as I just got on line Thursday?

It comes "later" (some random amount of time, measured in days, not weeks, after install).
Thanks. This too it seems. The "customize" feature is there but since it is below "backup history" at first I didn't know to look for it by pushing up on that app page. It could have been there at install or not; it is there now. :D

You will find lots of interesting stuff hidden in the app when you scroll. For example when you select one of the objects like Solar and it displays the graph scroll up to see hidden gems. You can even capture the data and use it for other purposes.

Well, had a great experience with tech support this morning, this minute. :)

I called about the battery frequency adjustment and storm watch not on app yet, five days.
The gen was great. Listened and said they will take care of it. In a few minutes on hold he gave me a case number for both.
Great experience today.
In case one is interested I called # 1-877-798-3752-3-3-1 (the 1 is for power wall)

Another number posted before was busy right off the bat.

@charlesj thanks for posting this. I used it to check on the status of our solarglass roof inspection. They ended up pushing it back a week, but no one had contacted us. So I called the number (this is support number for cars and I guess everything), selected energy products, and the solarroof and got right to a someone. He looked us up and read me the information about the a permit update they needed to make, and ensured the inspection team had our number and would contact use before coming out on the 28th.

I think I was the one who posted the support number I had before, for tesla energy support. It goes directly to tesla energy phone reps. I have only called a couple of times but never got a busy signal or had to push any buttons to get to anyone... they picked up after a 2-3 rings. This was pre "end of march 2020" and all that entailed with the way work is done NOW vs how it was done in jan / feb.
