Milestones compared to other car startups

It's hard for us to say what VIN the car will be. Though there is some correlation, the VINs do not reflect the production number... let alone the order of delivery. I'm still not sure whether Sam Perry's Sig100 #81 was the 100th car produced or delivered.

So which 500 will they celebrate?

Actually I think the last car of the 2008MY (VIN 500) is more interesting than the 500th car. As is the 1st car of the 2010 model year which deserves some recognition.

Here's a more complete list of possible milestones from another thread:

Vector: 35 cars
Tucker: 51 cars
Corbin: 300 sparrows
RAV4 EV: 600 cars
EV1: 1171 cars
De Lorean: 9000 cars
Edsel: 120000 cars
Hudson: 300000 cars in one year

I think "TUCKER" would be a good vanity plate for P-51 :)

Tesla past De Lorean (Elon will be happy) months ago.

I wonder if the Model S will ever catch the Nissan Leaf (71,000+)

Hudson Motor Car Company merged with Nash-Kelvinator Corporation to form American Motors Corporation which was eventually acquired by Renault then sold to Chrysler Corp.

It will take a few years but after Kaiser-Frazer Corporation - Kaiser Motors Corporation's 770,000 cars then it is Chrysler Corporation. :)
