A lovely part of Australia, the south coast of WA, shame it has similar weather to Victoria.

Day 4- Esperance, Australia's first commercial wind turbine originally installed 30 years ago. image.jpeg
The second set of larger turbines was installed 24 years ago, this one is still going strong. image.jpeg
Plenty to do in Esperance whilst charging including the Skylab display and the RSL hall. image.jpeg Esperance charging station! image.jpeg

The Broadarrow taven, awesome beer, awful flies. image.jpeg Sometimes you just gotta go offroad, no arguing with these guys, this load travelled 600kms from Perth destined for the Kalgoorlie Superpit. image.jpeg

honestly people like you sort of piss me off slightly. Like... Australia has already the best weather in the world regardless of where you live there. And your WA capital is one of the most sunny places in the world. X_x

I think you need to spend a year or so in middle europe with 1000 sunshine hours a year and wet +- freezing winters and about 1 month of nice weather a year and then you can make that statement again. :D

    Hey Rob,

No more "Powered by the Sun"

Are you just using the UMC and 32A tail or have you got another EVSE for backup.

    Safe travels

This trip was more powered by Wind turbines, with a bit of gas generation thrown in.
Using the EVnomics tail with the UMC, that's okay for a single charger, at the next WA Tesla meetup we need to get all the charging cables out and go through them one by one for the new Tesla owners.

Day 6- Home after 2200kms, the last 330km leg had a consistant elevation drop of 320 metres that helps with range. image.jpeg

At Merredin rec centre we charged to 310kms typical ( about 76-77% from memory), the aim was to drive 270kms to the RAC CHAdeMO charger in Perth and add 15 minutes of fast DC, we hit the bottom of Greenmount hill with 93kms remaining so just turned left at Midland and headed home.

ah i see you went cold turkey (no pun intended). I would have advised you to start somewhere a bit more south, i.e. Brighton or Berlin or smth. xD

Once accepted an invitation to spend a white Christmas and New Year in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Thought I would die of cold and spent NYE waiting for some ball to drop in Times Square on TV. Yawn!
Kept thinking I traded a warm evening overlooking Sydney Harbour fireworks for this. Never again.

Good one. Just had a look at Plugshare and can't see Merridin Rec centre, only CBH and Nissan.
