Minute pits on MX windshield

Just took MX for a wash. Took a close look at the windshild and noted at least half a dozen very tiny pits. I do a lot of freeway driving, but have never seen this on any other car. Is this normal? Should I coat it or wrap it too prevent cracking?

I had this happen once on a previous car when I was following someone with a lot of sand on the road.

Thats the thing. I don't recall anything like that or any specific incidents. Strange.

I don't really care about the damage, I just don't want this to become a full crack.
