Just to confirm. I have the Tesla Part # 1027582-00-A. What I do not have on my 2017 Model X is a place to attach the tow hitch to. Meaning the round receiving part after taking off the plastic cover is not there. Were there Model X's made without this? What are my options now?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Plenty of MX’s sold without the tow hitch. It was a $700 option at the time.

Confirm it was included on a copy of the Monroney sticker. If you don’t have the original sticker, ask Tesla for a copy.

Not sure when they made the switch but early on they had listed both tow hitch and an accessory hitch which was basically the same thing. So check for both items.

Tesla local service center called me back and confirmed I need to have the Tow Hitch Bar installed on my vehicle to accept the tow hitch receiver. They will be coming via mobile tech to install. $500 with parts and install. Not horrible considering next best option would have been after market.

Appreciate the quick replies.

Brand new to Tesla. Great knowing support from everyday drivers is only a few keyboard taps away!
