Missing Tow Package?

How helpful are the Delivery Specialists during first inspection? Are they typically just rushing to get you through the process? Also, how flexible are they if I find things a few days after delivery once I’ve had a chance to drive around for a bit?

You'll maybe see your actual DS once or twice. There are, in my experience, other staff who handle individual deliveries.
If you need to review something, the DS staff should be (California may now be an exception with the specialized delivery centers) are often in the same building. If you need them, don't hesitate to ask. The staff are all there to make sure its a clean transfer. Nobody likes mistakes. For me, I never felt rushed... but I should have been at nearly 2 hrs for my X delivery -- I worked the checklist like a hawk :) On my latest delivery for my referral I cut the time to 70 min... but they still didn't mind.

In truth they are actually there to help you. They are very patient and in my experience often willing to go above and beyond to field any questions or concerns you may have. The key point here at delivery is that you still have they check they want ;-) Remember you are still in control until you sign the delivery papers -- and even after if items are noted on the due-bill.

I want to say this with the most sincerity... there is the rub though... Delivery staff can't answer questions if you don't have them.
I can elaborate about my own very good experiences... yet what matters to you is your experience.
The more homework you have done, the more you will know about what should be delivered. The delivery checklists from this Forum are quite good. This thread started with a missing tow hitch. Turns out this was more common (last quarter) than it should be. And the tow hitch is definitely an item on the checklist.

The folks at Tesla know that they are there to perform a Premium experience for their customers. Price tag, is a given.
It's often a simple discussion w/ the service center folks, that goes something like this: I noticed item ____ is (missing, wrong, noisy, adjective etc.) and I think it should be _______. Is this right? The Tesla staff will note your request and investigate it to get you an answer.

I hope I gave you some perspective. And hope you have a smooth delivery. One thing I would recommend is if you know anybody who has taken delivery before... buy them dinner, etc. & have them go through what they learned & maybe they could spare an afternoon to help you with delivery. My recent referral was increasingly comfortable knowing he had the support.

Thanks, hopefully that means with my Nov. delivery my wait is nearly over....

Keep pinging them. I was only checking in on them like once a month and it turned out they had the parts, there was just miscommunication on their end and they didn't know it was for my X. So I could have had it done probably a month or two ago.

I got a brand new Tesla hitch and receiver from eBay ($700 total) and plan to install it myself using installation PDF (attached). Do I have to go to SC and request software update as I don't see TOW option in my 05/2017 75D or I can use it as is?

Thanks

When I picked up my 2018 yesterday, they said it had the tow package installed from the factory, they confirmed it by providing me the trailer assembly hitch in a nice padded bag. I guess factory X's are getting them installed prior to delivery.
