Not sure if the price given has been confirmed by Porsche , but if they make it happen Tesla will finally have true competition for the S.

Not sure if you've ordered a Porsche before but those options add up quickly, and it's still unclear about the charging infrastructure. How much automation they will provide, and if they will support over the air updates. Though I'm glad there is going to be actually competition that's always good. I don't think the bolt and the leaf are really direct competitors. It also seems like Faraday and lucid are struggling, and most others have vapor ware or bolting electric drive trains to ICE vehicles.

85000 starting for a 2 door electric sport is a pretty big game changer. Especially if you consider the FED/State and Local incentive. For me that would be 12,500 off... Things are starting to heat up.

I wonder how they're planning to compete with the Supercharger network.

I wonder where Tesla will be in 2019. Hopefully AP2 will exceed AP1.

Mission E is not a 2 door sports car. It has 4 doors and is more like the Panamera.

The $85,000, Fully-Electric Porsche Mission E Will Arrive in 2019

Good competition. Once they get the charging stations all over the US, I'll switch to a porsche mission e.

More EVs the better I say. Mission-E is pretty, however I have a hard time believing that porsche would sell many of these at 85. It'll most likely be spec'ed out much higher.

Plus Model 3 is where the growth it now anyway.

I believe Tesla set a price on the model 3 at $35,000 at the beginning too.

As we can see now, the cars that were shown at the Model 3 reveal were 90% production models. Tesla already knew exactly what they were going to produce when they quoted the price at that time. Right now, the Mission E is nothing more than a concept car with a supposed production date 2+ years in the future. Pricing is still pure speculation at this point.

True...but Porsche is a serious car company. This is a legitimate competitor and they will do it right.

Can't wait to see how this plays out.

This is the model S forum, not the 'e car market growth' forum. People here own large luxury electric cars so the industry 'growth' hotspot isn't as relevant as a legitimate model S competitor. Which is what the mission e is.
