It's not only OK, it's what almost everyone does. Leave it plugged in and put the cord on a hook. Only unplug it and take it with you when going on trips out of town.
there have been reports of possible issues from cycling it from plugged in to out causing problems but I and many others just leave it plugged in. In my case over almost 4 years of ownership, 2 different units, leaving it plugged in 99% of the time, I've encountered zero issues. there are some people who don't share that opinion and install a permanent wall unit alleviate any sort of concerns. IMHO that is an unnecessarily expense.

When plugged in, there is power to the charging circuits and LEDs in UMC. I assume the circuits will have a longer life when not turned off and on frequently. Is wasted power consumption trivial?
