I was just curious how long after delivery does it take for you to have access to your Model 3 through the Tesla app on your phone. Were you able to access it at delivery? Or did you have to wait a few days? Thanks.
They activate it at the time of delivery for you to familiarize with it. Then it's deactivated while they process your purchase paperwork in their systems at which point it is then reactivated. It's a crummy process but that's how it goes.
I enabled mine a couple hours after delivery and never loss access to it. Have never used the key card once except when they showed me at delivery.
Oh, I see. Thanks for the info. I guess these are the types of things to expect from a new car company. Compared to the others Tesla is just a baby and will mature their process over time. All things considered, this is a minor annoyance.
Can Confirm - Currently kicked out of the App. "no products connected" Took delivery yesterday around 5pm and charged overnight. Woke up with no phone connection
Tesla isn't the only one who does this ... my Range Rover did the same thing ... has to do with transfer of ownership and all that ..
Too bad a technology company can't get technology right, at least in this regard.. This is not a hard problem to solve.
