My model 3 screen shows the following message: "Mobile Connector adapter fault, maximum charge rate reduced" I am not quite sure the meaning of the message. My car is only 8 months old! Has anyone met the same problem? If so, what is the solution?
Sounds like a fault... with the mobile connector adapter.
Do you have a friend with a Tesla whose mobile connector you can try? Or pop to your nearest showroom/service center and try one there. I’m guessing you can figure out whether it’s the car or charger very quickly.
I had a 6-20 adapter fault just like that - the charge rate was limited to 8 amps. Using a spare, I verified that the fault was in the adapter and went to the service where they did a quick swap.
