How are you charging? A 240VAC drop is a nice add-on....most.would say it's a necessity.

I only drive ~500 miles a week so I'm planning to do with the normal outlet. Maybe once a week top off at office.

Normal outlet gives ~3-4 miles/hour. Weekdays I park home ~10-11 hours a day, and weekend maybe 13-16h. So total maybe 80-90 hours a week. Gives me 240-360 miles range with just home charging. About once a week top off at office should be enough to cover the rest.
