Model 3 as Uber self driving "taxi"

If you think of a Model 3 variant as being designed to be an Uber self driving car for hire, then some of the design decisions make sense. The emphasis on rear seat headroom. The steering wheel looking like an afterthought (just won't need one at all for a fully autonomous car.) The NAV screen being centrally located so rear seat passenger(s) can see it better...

Tesla may have been working on Model 3 to get that contract but Daimler seems to have won it instead?

Google made a bunch of self driving "pod cars" with no steering wheel...
