Model 3 automatically goes into Park after 10 minutes of hold

Probably lots of you know this, but if Model 3 is stopped and in ‘hold’ mode for more than 10 minutes it automatically goes into Park. I experienced this today and briefly wondered what had happened because there was a slight jerk when it happened. But it’s in the manual:

“After actively braking Model 3 for approximately ten minutes, Model 3 shifts into Park and Vehicle Hold cancels”

When model s first arrived in Australia it didnt have hold. Tesla added it one day with an over-the-air update.

I was lined up to have a drive-thru Covid-19 test.

Often enough I'll drive somewhere and let it coast to a stop (since the car now stops for you, nice update!) and then open the door - the car then automatically puts itself into park from Drive/Hold. Electric cars are the best!

All good there, the result was negative. I’ve had three tests now, can’t be too careful if you have a sore throat or sniffle.
