He told me this LR RWD left factory on 4/9 I am guessing it didn't ship with HW3 ?? Even though I am not getting FSD if I get FSD later will that include the hardware upgrade too or is that price only gonna be for Software?
All FSD cars get the new hardware if they don't already have it. Now WHEN they get it is a question still to be answered. Right now there appears to be no advantage to having the new hardware and there may even be disadvantages. It takes a bit to get the new software on the new hardware up to where the software is on the older hardware. I hope that last sentence makes sense.

So say I decide to buy FSD 1 year from now at the increased price of $8k* will that include the hardware upgrade..in other words I don't have to get FSD at delivery to get me the new chip right?

Correct. You just pay more. Money cures a lot of things. I suspect (don't know for sure) that they will tempt you along the way by offering an FSD trial with a reduced price if and only if you buy during the trial.

Tesla is shifting ALL cars over to the new FSD hardware. For the cars with the new hardware, they will only ever get software for buying FSD. For older builds with the 2.5 hardware, they will eventually be upgraded to 3.0 hardware if the car has FSD. That upgrade is included in the FSD price which is the same as the price if you already have the newer hardware.

It rained after a week of sunny days.
I stomped on the go pedal at the green light and the rear end squirmed a little.
I will be careful when it is below freezing..........
If you can afford AWD, it is not money wasted in bad weather.

So I found a White on White LR RWD. With the price changes I confirmed that the price for a White on White LR RWD with AP is now 49030 (has a $170 adjustment they think its cause it was a showroom car). The same car configuration was offered to me for 52200 in white on black just 3-4 weeks ago. So its a bargain. Essentially if you find a Black LR RWD with Aero wheels with AP it will be 46700 today.

So instead of waiting for my white on white SR+ with FSD which total order price was $49,200 I have now been matched to a white on white LR RWD with only AP for 49030. Yes I am giving up FSD (can't afford the 6k over that price) but I will get more range, slightly better car, better interior features and I can always add FSD later (though will hurt me much more to do so at $8000 so I probably won't) But that same car was literally 52200 3 weeks ago.

I still think the SR+ is a terrific value and I would not have changed my order if I would be getting a Vin sooner, but I have to return my leas June 6th. And since the LR RWDs (off menu) have dropped in price I think the 49k I am spending will go much better towards more range than FSD. Had LR RWD remained at 52k I would have kept my SR+ with FSD order.

So, @Rawlings2019 -- how did you go about finding a white on white LR RWD? I am considering the same thing now as well given I am under a similar time crunch and the cost for quality seems reasonable. Thanks!

Does AWD help in rain, or is it just snow?
I'm also deciding between the LR and LRD...
AWD only helps in some situations where you are already at the limit of grip. It helps you start up very slippery hills, it helps you get out of deep and uneven terrain, and it helps you accelerate faster out of a corner. AWD does not help you stop faster, and it does not help you turn harder. Stopping and turning are related almost 100% to your tires.

Maybe 99% of the time driving on the street, you would not notice any difference between an AWD car and a FWD or RWD car. If you want better snow traction, the best bang for the buck is very well known to be winter tires (or mud tires if you're really driving through deep stuff). However, in certain situations, AWD very very far surpasses 2WD - I had a Ford Expedition we used to take off-road to remote trailheads, for instance.

For us, the increase in price to dual motor was not worth it.

Don't believe a guy on the internet, though. I suggest googling "AWD vs. snow tires" or similar.

Okay everyone, I am having an issue and I hope someone here can guide me how to get it figured out. My delivery is set for this Wednesday May 22nd.

I chose to change my order from white on white SR+ with FSD. Total price $49200 to a white on white LR RWD with FSD for 55,030. They said it had a price adjustment of about 170 bucks cause it was showroom car. I asked if I could remove FSD. I was told yes and so the new price would be 6000 off. Which is 49030. I've got a screenshot of the link my specialist sent me of that vehicle. That shows the price 53,830. Which after 1200 dest and doc fee is 55030 and after removing FSD is 49030. So chose to take that car and everything seem to be going good. I was matched with the VIN, delivery for this Wednesday. Well things got tricky cause they can't seem to get the contract amounts right. At first it showed 57200 for LR RWD with FSD...I told them...woah the price was actually 55030 with destination and with FSD and when removing FSD it's 49030 including destination...so they have been changing it and everytime the price is still off by over 2grand! From what I have read this off menu LR RWD now includes auto pilot with base price and the price went up $1,000. So AP isn't 3,000 anymore it's $1,000 for the LR RWD. Which is why the webpage link I first got when deciding on this car showed it at 55030 with FSD when removing that it brings it down to 49030. So how do I get them to freaking adjust the price accordingly to what was offered to me!! I am including screenshots of what was offered and what I am being charged!

The first offer includes FSD but again if you remove fsd it should be $49030 with AP only ...not the $51040 on the contract :/

Currently my contract is showing $51040! Which is $2010 above what I was shown!

I'll gladly take this off your hands if you don't get this resolved :)

To each their own. The price of the SR+ was reasonable enough where it made sense for my budget. I work from home, and most of my driving is within a 20-mile radius. Even on longer trips, there are enough superchargers in Southern California that I’m not too worried. If I had unlimited funds, of course I’d prefer a performance AWD, but can’t really justify the $30k premium. Drove an SR+ demo model, and it was plenty quick for me.

I was in the same boat until the price change for the LR RWD on 5/12. For $6400 more you get longer range and premium interior, best bang for the buck. I can live without AWD for $4000 savings.

If you order a new LR RWD, white white with AP.
45900 + 3000 + 1200 = 50100.
But if you ask for discount, don't they give it to you? Like free wheel or paint upgrade?

You have 3,000 for white on white which is actually 2500... 1500 white ext , 1,000 white interior.

I finally got them to fix the price..well sort of they kept putting 51200. But after a trip there they opened a case and today it shows as 49440.

As follows:

Finally my account shows
Lr rwd
45900
White 1500
White int 1000
Dest and doc 1200

49600

160 price adjustment
49440.

When they sent the link originally said 53830 with FSD...which is 55030 with 1200 destination. Subtract 6,000 fsd that's 49030..so they are still off by like 400 bucks...I'm probably not gonna complain anymore cause I'm tired of all the emails and calls and drive to Tesla store and I need to send contract to my CU for funding....as easy as the ordering process was the price adjustments need to get easier I worked at retail before and adjusting prices was so easy...if they want to make this an easy process they need to give the stores that ability without having to make it a back and forth issue.

$400 is the price increase across the board after 5/12. So if you ordered 5/11, base price is $400 cheaper but you don't get AP($3000) on LR RWD, but if you order 5/12 your base is $400 higher but you get free AP. That's why ordering LR RWD was the best bang for the buck.

Yes but I thought this 400 increase doesn't apply to inventory vehicles which this lr Rwd is an inventory vehicle. So my thought was only auto pilot is $1,000 now and the price shouldn't go up from 44500 to 45900...it should just go up to 45500. (Auto pilot $1,000, not price adjustment of 400)

45500 LR Rwd with AP
White 1500
White in 1000
Total 48000
Destination and doc 1200

Total 49200
160 price adjustment

49040 total.

Which is why when I got the link it said 53830 for this car with FSD they told me I could remove FSD so that puts it at 47830 add 1200 doc and destination that's 49030... So not sure why it's 49440 ...I'm glad they got it down to match current price but I still think with it being an inventory vehicle from what I read the 400 price adjustment doesn't apply to inventory vehicles made before 5/11 which this vehicle was made 4/10. So since AP on this model is now worth $1000. That's why I think the price should be 400 less .. unless of course they did apply the 400 on inventory vehicles too...which from what I read isn't true.
