Steering wheel buttons are just short cuts for the what's in the main center panel and have a tactile feel so you can operate w/o looking... Like touch typing...video game controllers. Same with vents... Just put your hand near the vent...feel and adjust... Easy peasy.

While you can memorize the most used buttons on the wheel, most people can't help but glance down to the less used ones, at the vents, or at the center buttons, instead of feeling blindly. They just can't help it.

Mwybe...I love the shortcut buttons on the wheel...IMHO...easier than the soft buttons on a display that's located on some page that I can't remember.
