Wasn't sure if this has been discussed yet but looks like motor trend has the new speed for the model 3. Thoughts?

Right here:Does anyone have a list of vehicles that this now competes against?

Saw it mentioned here: Tesla Model 3: 2018 Motor Trend Car of the Year Finalist - Motor TrendYou have a link or source to this?
The real question is what will be the 0-60 mph in the non-performance dual motor configuration and how will it compare to a BMW M3?

Yes Motor Trend's result was 4.8 but that was on the single motor not the dual motor AWD version. Jeffk was asking about the latter.I thought it was 4.8?
This is the beauty of electric motors and no transmission: while other cars are fetching a lower gear, the EV is already passing, because instant response. I cannot get enough of it myself.Passing acceleration — 2.1 seconds 45-65 mph — is even more impressive.

Here are a few “comparables”:
2017 BMW 330i — 2.8
2017 Audi A4 2.0 T Quattro — 2.7
2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia — 2.4
Total smackdown.
Model 3 also did fantastic on the MT figure 8 test for handling, tying for top honors among the leading ICE sedans in its class:
2017 Model 3 — 25.7 sec
2017 A4 2.0T Quattro 25.7 sec
2017 BMW 330i 26.1 sec
2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia 26.8 sec
Alfa Romeo Giulia vs. BMW 330i vs. Audi A4 vs. Mercedes-Benz C300 vs. Cadillac ATS vs. Jaguar XE vs. Lexus IS 200t vs. Volvo S60
Tesla discounts for rollout as well per the performance disclaimer at the bottom of the design studio.I believe MT generally discounts for roll-out, but I haven't read the article so they may have addressed this. This would be about ~5 sec 0-60 without roll-out which is what Tesla advertises.
