Sounds like there is a market for a 12v disconnect for the Model 3.I think 1 kWh is a lot of energy to be pissing away, that's all.

But then "system tests" wont happen:Sounds like there is a market for a 12v disconnect for the Model 3.

I think folks just need to deal with it. Certain "system tests" might require more processing than others...thus the disparity in reported "vampire drain". Its a Model 3 "feature".....just gotta factor the additional power requirements/consumption in day to day activities.
My WAG is that the car uses about 400 watts in idle mode, or about 10 minutes of every hour to consume 1 kWh a day. That's interesting.
Which is about 1 kWh per day. Even at a high electricity rate of 25 cents/kWh like you may have in California, that’s about 25 cents/day (or 10 cents/day in Texas). This is why I wonder why it bothers some people so much. The concern seems overblown.
No, that would give the Model 3 with 310 mile range a 100 kWh battery. It’s actually about 75 kWh. Therefore 3.1 miles is only about 0.75 kWh.No. It’s more like 1.5kw. 3.1 miles is1kw.
If you want to get picky, include charging losses. No, that would give the Model 3 with 310 mile range a 100 kWh battery. It’s actually about 75 kWh. Therefore 3.1 miles is only about 0.75 kWh.
Maybe because it ain't in the owners manual?
Looks like the note for "idle and unplugged" was just recently added in the 2018-08-06 release of the manual. Below is a post on the differences and a screen cap. The manual also now gives an example of Battery discharge over a two week period. On page 111.
So it’s 1.4% rather than 1%. Rounds to 1%. Chill out and try to enjoy your car.Either way. 1% of 310 miles is 3.1 miles. That what I expect as loss. Not 4.5 mile loss per day.
You want to pay for my wasted $0.34 a kw electricity? So it’s 1.4% rather than 1%. Rounds to 1%. Chill out and try to enjoy your car.
They better not be secretly mining bitcoins!
I could live with that.I see around 1-2 miles per day vampire drain on mine.
I see around 1-2 miles per day vampire drain on mine. Have the Tesla techs take a look, hopefully it's not the battery issue.
