Model 3 Door Handles - Here is how they actually work

From his twitter post Elon is saying they are considering it... I don't personally like it either but everytime I say that and explain why, I attract dislikes :)

Although if it was guaranteed radar and lidar absorbing then I'd be all over that for a performance version to avoid speeding tickets. Yet, it'd probably screw with future autonomous cars and I'd get rear ended.

My fiance has already forbidden me from getting red or matte black so it's not really a choice.
I never thought about having a radar broadcast from my car as having something to interfere with speeding tickets. I've seen detectors, tag covers...but never a airwave saturation system. With all the curb sensors out there, do Escort detectors get overwhelmed? Do speed radars loose accuracy?

Radar jammers are illegal in the US according to the FCC, but it could be done (the military does active radar jamming). 99% of what's sold online as a "radar jammer" for your car is usually fake to remain legal and the buyers are suckers. Radar absorbing paint like some of the early stealth aircraft designs would help in a passive way instead of trying to actively jam it. It would try to prevent a return signal bouncing off the car, although the license plate will still reflect radar.

Most police around me are using lidar nowadays so your radar will have no effect on it. The only thing that can be done for that is to not have a reflective license plate. Some lidar guns actually detect attempts at lidar jamming.
