Keep in mind you will also need a jack, Model 3 puck type jack adapter, and a socket/breaker bar. Finding a low profile small jack that will fit under the car with the adapter is not easy... I'm still looking for a donut that will fit over performance brakes.
Here's what I use. Doesn't rattle and fits well in the trunk. Tire repair kit: https://amzn.to/2qqUv0o The compressor in the video is no longer sold, so here's the upgraded version: https://amzn.to/2xHxQkX
I don't have a model 3, but i bought a similar set up for my S, i have stock 19's so mine works well. so far never needed it. but for model 3 : https://www.amazon.com/2017-2018-Tesla-Model-Complete-Spare/dp/B07FXBJ3V8

Nope, that's it. I'm going to return the best freakin car I ever owned! Tesla never told me the model 3 doesn't come with a spare tire. It is Tesla's fault and I want a full refund. Yep, pretty pathetic. Nope, I'm not going to change a simple flat tie in the pouring rain (which in SoCal that means it is sprinkling ) even if my car has a spare tire included. That's why I pay for Geico roadside service, so they can change my included spare tire in Los Angeles pouring rain. It is just freakin pathetic that anyone would want to change their own feakin pathetic spare tire in the simple freakin pouring rain.
that bottom picture is my exact set up (looks like my car too), you can't do that with the facelift cars anymore the frunk is too small, that only worked on RWD, pre-bio defense models.
Yeah, I also had the RWD pre-facelift Model S and that frunk was BIG. The frunk space in the Model 3 is pretty tiny.
Be careful with the tireplugs also WARNING!!!!! WARNING!!!!! That tire won't fit on a Performance Model 3. The brake calipers are too big. WARNING!!!!! WARNING!!!!!
I may consider a spare to keep at home. Really don't want/need the weight in the car all the time. Can always get a lift home and back with the tire if around town. I've generally found roadside service (AAA) is faster in the country than in the city. I already have (and have used) a plug kit.
What annoys me is that they totally could have rearranged the frunk space to fit a spare. That would give people a convenient place to put a spare tire. I’ve also been under the car and they probably could have made the tub in the rear fit a spare as well.
They claim they actually fit it on a P3D and it fit over the P model brakes... Will the wheel fit around the larger brakes found on the cars with the Performance Upgrade Package? Answer: Yes it will. This has been verified by placing the spare on the performance models. By Decadent Seller on December 19, 2018 so did you try it? I have no dog in the fight, just what is stated on their advert for the wheel kit.
I wonder if I should buy the pucks in case I get in this situation. I have roadside assistance through AAA and GEICO, but I can be guaranteed that they will have the correct adapter for the jack.
I was just thinking the same. I would like to just call my roadside assistance through AAA if Tesla's is going to take too long, but not if that means destroying my jack points. lol
A portable slime compressor costs $40 and weighs about one kg. Also room for it in the frunk even when transporting dinner for the family.
You know.....I believe a 3rd party vendor will soon created a larger bucket for the frunk. I removed my bucket to put in my undermount remote controlled license plate device and there was a TON of additional space under there. I don't know why the bucket is sooooo small.
You're posting as if you didn't know that Tesla vehicles not having spare tire. I understand your frustration. I also own Chevy Bolt EV and surprised to find tire seal & compressor in the trunk.
