Well, It depends. I purchased 4 because my tire place usually jacks my car up on 4 points. AND....that's all I will ever need. I just went ahead and purchased 4 to get it over with.
I will buy a complete spare. I always keep a plug kit and compressor in my vehicles. Nobody is coming to help me where I live.
I've seen the frunk liner removed and didn't see any extra space available to accomodate the size of a tire.
There's not. They'd have to rearrange some of the components. The volume is there, just not the shape.
I appreciate that you posted this as if everyone else also didn't know that the car didn't come with a spare tire. I can imagine you rummaging through your trunk on the side of the road, cursing Elons name.
My ‘06 Miata, two ‘12 Chevy Volts, and ‘15 Kia Soul EV all came without a spare tire. I think this is becoming quite common on modern cars, for better or worse. Fortunately I haven’t had a calamity due to the absence of a spare in all these years (now that I’ve said that...)
i know right, in30 years of driving i have changed one tire on the side of a road.... have i had flats, well slow leaks due to a screw or something, yes about 5, non on the tesla in 4 years.
Here’s an option for a spare: 2017-2018 Tesla Model 3 Complete Kit - Modern Spare I wrote to them and they advise against putting it in the frunk as it would affect the safety characteristics of the Model 3. Primarily where crumple zones are involved. But if someone is looking for a good spare set it would fit fine in the trunk.
Different offsets (or even width) is not an issue. A donut will be different. As long as the rolling diameter of the tire is the same you will be fine.

Cool! not having a spare is a dealbreaker type of situation. Tesla truck had better have one. Oohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Fffffffuuuuuuuuddgge
Flat tires suck! However in 40 years of driving I've never had a flat that couldn't be temporarily repaired with a plug until the tire could be dismounted to have a proper patch applied or be replaced (and I have had multiple holes and some big enough that several rope plugs were needed). I know that it happens... but so far not to me. I'm ok with not carrying a spare and I'm glad to have some additional cargo space in the frunk & trunk. In addition to having Tesla & Michelin's roadside service numbers stored in my phone, I also have a basic repair kit that I expect will get me back on the road quickly. Here's what I carry: All this stuff ('cept the jack) fits in the little red bag on the left side of my lower trunk: Cheers, -Mark
