Model 3 | Installing Aluminum Performance Pedals

I had the same exact experience. Got the TopFit Brake and Accelerator covers and it was a pain putting them on. I even did the "dunk in hot water" tip to soften or loosen up the plastic backing but still found myself angling my body and cramping up and hurting my fingers. Still very worth it in my opinion. Love the look. Looking for Foot Rest Dead Pedestal cover to match. Not going to go with the RPM one.

@davidalai What's wrong with the RPM dead rest? Just curious

Dead Pedal (RPM Tesla)
TBH I’m not a big fan of it, so I’m looking around for a replacement
1. The metal on the right side was bent when I received it so I had to use a rubber mallet to pound it back flat :(
2. The black bars are like sandpaper, so it’s pretty loud when the sole of your shoe is rubbing across it, would prefer a hard rubber for the ribs like the pedals

How often do you rub your sole against the dead plate?

@Trevor B LOL it’s every time you get in the car, it’s a loud scraping sound just to rest your left foot, so it’s just gets annoying is all. It’s also accentuated when it’s quiet in the cabin and even a slight shift of the foot scrapes across the sandpaper. I don’t need extra grip to hold my foot at rest, so a smoother surface would be better for me.

Also, the abrasion is just knocking junk off my shoe onto the floorboard, which ends up being one more thing to clean (I’m lazy).

It might be a good feel for you, so give it a shot, I just found for me that it wasn’t quite what I was looking for.

I want to get a set of the aluminum pedals for my RWD Model 3 that look like the Model 3P ones. There are no shortage of ones online cheap from China. However, most of these look like they are just painted silver to look like aluminum. Or, the Topfit ones look nice but they are wrong in how many rubber strips they have. I was thinking of ordering a set of the pedals on Tesla's website but they are specifically for the S and the X. I hear that the brake pedal will be substantially wider if I do this. If the Model 3P has these pedals, Tesla should sell them as a standalone option. Can anyone recommend where I can get a set of these OEM ones?

The Topfit ones for the 3 are actually really good. Nice polished aluminum. More rubber lines then the performance ones but I see that as a positive. The brake pad fits the 3 perfectly as well as the accelerator. Both extremely secure. I left mine in the sun until warm and then they went on with some effort. On the accelerator hook the left side first and then pry the right side over with your fingers. Some pics of mine:
