I think that will be a good option. It will also make summons much more reliable while using the FOB.

Given that this will be required to enable summon in Canada let's hope it will be offered for free to us here...at least for those who purchase EAP...though I'm not holding my breath. Hopefully if they charge for it, the fee is minimal.

And finally, all those people who use Android phones will be able to get into their cars

Haha, it’s such a PITA... I remember when I picked up my MS a few years ago they put in the iPhone cable at delivery by default and apparently most owners are iPhone users, according to my DS at the time. I guess those who buy $100k cars also buy $1k phones?

The odds of fobs being free are low IMO... However, it might come free with newer M3 deliveries. I guess we’ll find out

Summon. Summons is being served with legal papers. Summon is asking your Tesla to move for you.

I would think it would be free for Canadians who purchased EAP since we can't get the summon feature without a fob.

Interested to hear what the update may have changed...hopefully it didn't enable summon(s); and without the FOB you accidentally ran yourself over and are now pinned by your car, unable to respond, since you said you were checking the app 50+ min ago :)

....in that case, I'll make sure your red model 3 doesn't have to go it alone ;)

I have no dog in this, but my bet is that the first fob or two will be free per car, and only cost if you want/request more.

My guess the car will still come with 2 key cards and 1 Fob. Phone app of course as well.

I say give the FOB to Canadians for free. They lost out on rebates, taxed to death, dollar weakening. Poor Canadians... we should all sponsor one!

Can we use the healthcare of the Canadian we sponsor? Might make it worthwhile.

That’s great...my 1st weekend with my 3 and a few times it didn’t recognize my phone and I had to use the app to open the doors or use the card. It looks like the fob will fit in the old Model S leather Tesla covers.
