Question 1) Can anyone explain how important it is to have your Tesla attached to an account you can access?
I'm assuming that unless it is you can't use the Tesla app to manage the car right? Maybe I wont even be able to collect the car if it's not on an account I can access?

The reason I'm asking is because my Tesla account has no order showing on it. When I questioned the broker we use to source company vehicles (who then use a lease provider) they sent me a screenshot of a Tesla page showing "<My Name>'s tesla" with a RN etc etc.
I asked how and when this Tesla registration got transfered to me but have had silence for over a week.
I think that might mean they don't know and haven't thought about it and it will result in an all-mighty balls up. I'm probably the first Tesla in my company.

Question 2) Can I/They move the car to be associated with my Tesla account when it gets to delivery time? Is that what happens with most leases or have they done something odd which is going to be hard to unpick?

The car will get transferred to your account on the day of collection. I’m in the same boat

Good luck!

I ordered through Zen on August 22nd, and my collection is next week. I also received no email/text from Tesla, so I called them to confirm what I was seeing in my account. All fine.

Initial deposit paid, and now waiting for next week. Let us know how it goes.

Well the Anxiety was mostly unfounded, we arrived 30 minutes early and quickly found our car from the registration number provided plugged in charging out the front! (it only had 26%?!). We then noticed the reg on the front of the car was ours, but then the back of the car had a entirely different reg plate. So that's another thing to add to the check list for delivery! We pointed this out and they quickly got it sorted.

The car is in really good condition, haven't had a good look around it yet but from looking while collecting I couldn't find any paint etc defects.

Just as we were about to get the key and head home the delivery specialist came over and said "Unfortunately we cannot release the car to you today as we have just had a note appear on your account to say delay delivery until December". I immediately called Zen.Auto and the staff member was helpful and updated my account and sent the confirmation to Tesla to release the car. I had no explanation as to why my account had a December preference suddenly set, so who knows it got sorted in the end and I am now in possession of the beast.

Congrats, and the car looks awesome too!

I've had a yoyo of emotions this week already, so can only imagine next week will be worse.

I ordered a Long Range, but today's email confirmation showed a Standard Range, quick phone call confirmed it was a typo (and it is a LR). Then my Tesla account shows one date, but they are telling me a different date. Phone call to Tesla confirms the account date.

So next week could be interesting if I'm turning up a date early/late.

How did you sort your insurance? I've been told I need to provide them proof 24 hrs in advance, but the reg still isn't showing up for me.

Tesla should provide the reg a day or 2 before collection. If you're going through a lease company they should be able to provide it much sooner.

It's worth running online insurance quotes and saving the policy/price that you want ASAP. On collection day or when you know the reg you can give the insurance company a call and complete the policy purchase. It's a 5/10minute call tops.

The reg may not appear on databases or DVLA online so you will probably have to call insurance company. Highly annoying as any online discount trackers are void by doing this.

Thanks, I have a couple of quotes saved (from last week), so as you say I'll try and complete them the day before online, otherwise I'll have to call them.

So Zen.Auto provided me with the reg a couple of weeks before hand, I used that when calling DirectLine to sort the insurance. Zen ask to see proof of insurance so I just attached the certificate that I received to an email to them. Tesla say to bring ID and proof of insurance too but I was not asked for any of those once.

Spoke to both ZenAuto and Tesla and both have confirmed that Zen would be contacting me with a delivery date. Not sure if that'll be the same for everyone but seems as if Tesla won't be calling/sending me a message and it's up to the lease company to inform me of the delivery date.

That is what they do now, different plates on front and back, first one to turn up gets the car.

Turn up at the same time and they fight it out in the mud bath at the rear.

It seems that way for me too. I logged back into my Tesla account yesterday and the time slot had been brought forward an hour. No one has told me though.

I'd try Zen and ask them if there's been a change to confirm, I reckon it's probably just a delay in Zen getting back to you. The person I spoke to suggested all the information is recorded on a spreadsheet so not sure how quick they are to update it and inform customers
