I thought that (at least for MS) battery damage caused by road hazards and not abuse were covered by Tesla.
This implies Tesla has reduced the shielding in the M3 and is no longer covering road hazards.

Would like to hear size of the rock, speed etc that could cause this damage. Were you on a paved road? Agree that insurance should cover this since it was damage caused while driving.
Drivers can't stop running over this rock by the Colorado Mills TargetYea, I'm pretty sure that wasn't just "run over a rock" it sounds more like it would have been "landed at high speed on a boulder"
FYI the S shield only covers the front edge of the pack, not the whole pack. What has Tesla said about this? Will they cover any of the cost and what do they say about the presence or absence of a battery shield under the car like on S/X?
