Performance model 3 has larger performance brakes with red brake calipers. Alloy pedals in the interior. Carbon fiber spoiler, 20 inch rims. Lowered suspension. Track mode. And top speed of 162mph.
No other upgrades but the emblem on the rear as far as I can tell.

I believe that this is one of the stealth models.....it makes sense.

No track mode on mine....they sold it to me as a LR DUAL MOTOR...the pedals are rubber too....not sure what other differences there might be

If it doesn't have track mode it's not performance, just the LR AWD.

As to P3D- vs P3D+ the differences are:

P3D+ has 0.39 inch lower suspension
P3D+ has the larger red brakes
P3D+ has the 20" boat anchor wheels with PS4S tires
P3D+ has the sport (metal) pedals
P3D+ has a carbon fiber spoiler (eventually)

Both versions have track mode, and both have the same 162 mph top speed and (roughly) the same 0-60 performance (the - is arguably slightly quicker with the lighter wheels)

I guess I'll have to ask around....I'm curious as to what the VIN # on a Performance Model would be

exactly the same as any dual motor model 3, performance or not.

If there's no red underline it's not performance.

But it does have the line?

That's a badge, not the actual cars software.

I could slap that badge on a Pinto, that wouldn't make it do 0-60 in 3.2 either.

If there's no red underline in software it's not P. Contact tesla to get them to fix that. A number of folks have gotten P3D- cars like that and had the car updated to a P via OTA within a day or two later.
