The undercarriage was ripped out, breaking some bumper clips. They are replacing the bumper as wellWas there really body damage that will require 20 hours of body work and another 10 hours of paint work?

Biggest hurdle now is waiting on parts, which will probably be more than a monthThanks for posting and following up with photos and status. Hope won’t have something like this happen to our cars but not knowing insurance might cover was good to learn they might. Being out of warranty (assume for mileage) you got really lucky. Hope she’s back up and good as new soon. Now is not a good time to have a car needing parts or total replacement.
Had that replaced a year ago. It's an oil filter.Curious, what is that filter that looks just like an oil filter? Is that a serviceable part?
Is that a standard service? I can’t find it in the scheduled maintenance.Had that replaced a year ago. It's an oil filter.
No, not standard. A year ago, got a notification that vehicle needs service, and speed is limited to 25mph, and I was 3 hours from home, was a great driveIs that a standard service? I can’t find it in the scheduled maintenance.
Ahh this detail is missing from your original post. That completely changes everything.Because I was in a construction zone and hit road debris, which is covered under insurance.
Yeah my apologies on that, my brain wasn't active during those few hours after the incidentAhh this detail is missing from your original post. That completely changes everything.
Hopefully the rental will be Tesla. My rental is a Ford Explorer and paying $90 a week to fill upLooks like rental car needs to be part of my tesla insurance coverage... every time a repair is required it's months and months eh?
So glad you didn't have to pay out of pocket for this fix!
In the three or so years I've had my M3, it's been in the shop for various reasons. Simple stuff is same-day, or two-day service, pretty much like anybody else. (Was in to mount a tire and replace the loaner wheel with the original, thanks to a road hazard hit last week. Two days after the windshield was replaced after getting hit by a rock, but that, apparently, required some time for the glue to dry and the cameras calibrated.)Looks like rental car needs to be part of my tesla insurance coverage... every time a repair is required it's months and months eh?

There is a screenshot in the thread; insurance paid $11-12k for the repairWonder how much that lot would have cost if it wasn't an insurance claim.
Oh sorry I'm on my phone so don't click on every pic. Ouch that's a bill and half. The parts look quite reasonable, labour seems alot though (not that it matters). There is a screenshot in the thread; insurance paid $11-12k for the repair
