It doesn't make sense unless they are making the Model Y a three row CUV also. For a two row car, it makes little sense to have falcon wing doors.

I know for certain their first variant will not have them given Elon's previous comments (about how they will not be so ambitious initially in order to get the Model 3 out in time).

Or maybe they are talking about a coupe? But I would imagine such expensive doors would be reserved for something like the next gen Roadster.

No Falcon Wings doors on the three. They need to keep the cost down and put in features to enhance range and utility. The FW doors do not make that cut for me on an 'economy model'.

For the Y you could have them, although I don't know "Y". (See I used Y as why, like the word why.)

It is impossible to have FwD on a roadster.

It makes much more sense to put FwD on a CUV than sedan.

Either the sedan OR the CUV will get FwD per Elon tweet.

Obviously it is the Model Y.

It is crucially important to get the Model 3 to market on time. Obviously Model 3 gets standard doors.

FwD are real car doors.

By far the most reliable cars to date are Corolla and Civic with manual transmissions.

So if you are obsessed with a car with components "not likely to break" you have your prime candidates.

Don't get your panties in a knot. Tesla has confirmed Model 3 will be a sedan, the followup will be a crossover. Elon is just being his usual coy self. Falcon wing doors will be only for the CUV, AKA Model Y.
