Model 3 P3D Wheel Alignment cost from Tesla ?

I agree with those who say the frequent alignment advice is wrong. Like many here, I’ve owned several “high end” cars over decades: Mercedes, BMWs, Jaguars, Lexus, you name it. I’ve only aligned a handful of times. Ignoring legitimate need for alignment would have showed up in tire wear over the years, and my tires last a loooong time. I’ve mentioned here that the 20” on my PD3+ are original after 39,000 miles, and they show NO signs of needing replacement before 50k, maybe even longer. Yearly alignments make as much sense as 3000 mile oil changes: doesn’t hurt the car, but it sure is an unnecessary waste of time/money for most cars.

Needed an alignment every 12k or 1 year as per advisor and that has been the case with every car I owned. Please let me know if I am missing something ? Specially bay area road pot holes also require it to check or have one sooner.. But Pull is not always the reason I thought for an alignment you may not even have a pull and still be causing the tires to wear unevenly so that is why you check alignment every 12k miles or 1 year..
I've never had any cars that needed an alignment every 12K! Unless you hit something, alignment rarely needs attention... An off center steering wheel or a pull to one side or the other is a good indication it is actually needed, as is uneven tire wear.

Sitting at the SC in Glendale AZ as we speak. Quoted $338.25 for an alignment. Been here for 4 hours now. Updates later..
5 hours and a bunch of money later, the car is good to go. I can't remember the last time I needed an alignment on a street car, and I sure as hell have never paid this much for one.

Hi, Does anyone know out here in bayarea CA how much will Service center usually charge for wheel alignment ?

Also anything that I should watch out for ? I recently got new tires and one of my TPMS sensor is also mis reading it I got a estimate for TPMS only $95 .. Is that not covered under warranty ?

So first the rear was kind of off and now front is even though as per americas tire all tire are set to 45 PSI.. I might have tesla bring it down to 42 PSI

They are cross climate plus.
I just paid $115 for my all whe alignment.

GPS did not tell me that my car had been towed away 5 days ago. ?!? Why???
I had parked my car at my complex on Nov 16 and had hip surgery on Nov 17. After surgery I looked at my app daily for location and honked the horn. Sometime in the middle of the next week I honked the horn and no response but GPS said it was where I left it. I also heard about Tesla app outage and my charge was low (70 miles left) so I thought nothing of the non responsive horn. On the 24th I asked my mate to check on my car which was gone. GPS still said it’s location was at my complex whole car was at a impound several miles away. Seems like a HUGE flaw. Has anybody else had a similar experience???

Mine would have done the same when my model y goes to sleep nothing wakes it up accept a pull on the door handle or possibly a bluetooth connection.. my S seems to wake up all the time

The Tire Barn, in Gainesville GA had no problem aligning my Model Y. Let me sit in the car and ‘center’ the steering wheel myself.
Excellent results.
Super nice, honest, very accommodating.
$119.00

Many other shops flat out wouldn’t work on Tesla or made stupid excuses.

Most likely, it ran under 20% of battery charge and went to sleep. Normally, if you can control car's functions, see it's status, and honk the horn, it should provide an updated location ... UNLESS of course the car was towed to a garage blocking the GPS signal. Interesting, but need a lot more information. If you believe it is a defect, please contact Tesla and let us know the results.

I would find a local alignment specialist shop that can set up your wheel alignment to factory or even more aggressive settings (for sports/track). Front double wish bone rear multilink is ubiquitous , so any alignment specialty shop can handle this straight forward. Alignment settings can can be made per drivers preferences too. Some people will prioritize efficiency and tire wear. Others will sacrifice tire wear for handling and performance. I assume the Tesla factory spec is a compromise of the two for the average driver. Find out what you like and have it done at an alignment shop that knows what they are doing.

I’ve mentioned elsewhere on the site that I finally replaced my original 20” Michelins at Tesla SC more than a week ago. Just under 52,000 miles on my three year old Performance Model 3. I was pleasantly surprised at the cost - less than all 4 other tire provider estimates - but I was blown away for what Tesla quoted for alignment: $294. Obviously I turned down the alignment as I found it completely unnecessary. Vehicle still tracks true and steady, like the day I brought it home.

How are your front tires wearing? Mine were pretty much bald on the inside at 30K miles. I did end up paying the local SC for an alignment....ouch.

My tires are nearly bald at 29K everywhere, and I have a regular M3 LR on 18" wheels. When I asked the service center about rotating the tires or maybe doing some alignment (I rotated the tires once myself), the SC gave me a definite 'nah..' answer. I feel sometimes the car is trying to steer itself really forcefully along road pavement inconsistencies, which might be tires of alignment issue, but I postpone looking at it until after replacing tires later this year.

This Firestone location in Laguna Hills, CA is awesome. I have a Tesla Model 3 which other Firestone locations and other repair shops price-gauching Tesla owners big time. Others quoted for the 4-wheel alignment at $325 for a one year warranty and some quoted $325 for lifetime warranty. They said it takes more time to remove all the panels underneath the car just to do the alignment. This place said it's just like any other cars and charges the same price ($199 Lifetime Warranty) for the alignment as any other cars. If you are in OC, CA I highly recommend going here for the alignment service. Excellent service experienced and my Tesla was back on the road within an hour.

I saw an AZ guy get quoted $240 for an alignment at Tesla SC. Probably the same everywhere. Find a good 3rd party shop and take it there, I recently had an alignment done to my provided specs for $80.
The only issue with that alignment is the mechanical part is within specs. But the alignment shop did not access toolbox3 while connected to the vehicle and follow the program procedures, auto pilot is still use data from before the alignment was done…

Thank you for this info. Planning on lowering my M3P. Will take mine there for a 4wheels alignment afterwards
