Model 3 Performance 11.8s 1/4 mile time

New video just posted by M3P owner who used an Escort GT2 Performance Computer to generate some new performance figures. Unfortunately the video doesn't show the actual acceleration run, so until it is demonstrated on video (or at a drag strip), it's probably best to take it with a grain of salt. Video: Tesla Model 3 Performance 1/4 mile AWD

0-60 mph: 3.27s
0-100 mph: 8.67s
1/4 mile: 11.8s @112.9 mph

If these numbers turn out to be legit, this is pretty impressive. If I recall the P85D ran the quarter in 11.7s, so the M3P is just 0.1s slower despite having a 0-60 mph time that is several tenths slower than the P85D.

I'm actually more surprised by the trap speed, would have expected 115-117ish. ET looks reasonable.

Edit: After thinking about it for a minute, lower trap speed makes sense with direct drive since you don't lose ET on shifts.

I would guess the single reason he didn’t record the run was because police would have video proof of him doing a quarter mile run on public roads...with 112 mph speeds! No lawyer would want that case without cash upfront.

was hoping for a bit better.... P85Ds run 11.5x @ 116 MPH... I'm sure Ludicrous and Launch Mode for the 3 will come out later and we'll get low 11's from the Model 3.....

was hoping to beat a Hellcat in a Model 3, going to be tough...

It seems to lose a lot of acceleration starting at 90mph. I was expecting 115-118mph.
Yeah, the top end seems to fall off quite a bit. Honestly though, the times you need that are basically non-existent in the real world, and even pretty rare on most tracks. Only on the fastest sweeping tracks would that really become a problem.
