My guess is Tesla paid someone to do this testing. China market performance is probably more critical to Tesla's success than any other market at this point.

China is getting a 19" aero performance rim for the P version of the car. That rim isn't available anywhere else yet.
China is 100% left hand drive other than Hong Kong & Thailand and Tesla probably won't sell there until right hand drive cars are ready.

LOL, good catch. Meant Taiwan or course and not sure they are actually LH drive or not and naturally not everyone in Taiwan agrees they are part of mainland PRC.

Perhaps. Though even if this were the case, it's far less shameful and more authentic than the iPace vs Model X "race" cough, catfishing video.
90kW battery car can barely edge out a 75kW (UNCORKED FFS) car that weighs more, seats more, and can tow a 747. And Model X frunk has space to fit more than just a pack of tampons. Though maybe iPace focus groups determined that might be optimal for their demographics.

I don't think someone paid them because the Model 3 showed up at 86% charge and they didn't top off for the laps. If it's a Tesla stunt they would charge to 100% for the lap time.
He also said the Model 3 is like the the GTR, after 3 laps they should pack up and go home. Only the Ferrari is a true track car that car do laps all day.
