Model 3 Phone Charge Cable Swap Thread

Anyone in the Atlanta area need a micro USB? I'm guessing not based on how many the Decatur DC told me they had from people wanting Lightning cables. If you're that rare person that needs one, let me know. Would love to swap for another Lightning cable.

Looks like EVERYONE who is buying a Tesla already has an Apple phone. Seems like a bad design that Tesla makes the cables 50/50 when their market is obviously so lopsided toward Lightning cables.
Update your estimate to "Everyone, minus 1". I DON'T have an iPhone and don't ever expect to. I only recently became a member of the smartphone-carrying public after AT&T declared their 2G network dead and I accepted their offer of a free Galaxy J3 (Android). Until then I was completely happy with a Sony Ericsson candybar phone.

You are correct in saying that offering both Lightning and USB as standard equipment is a bad design. Tesla should instead ask the new owner what they prefer when they pick up their car and hand them the cables along with instructions on how to install them. For the people that have their cars delivered to them, I'm sure that their delivery advisor could be tasked to get this information prior to trucking the car out. Yes it would be nice if you could state your preference when configuring the car but why add one more layer of options the factory will have to keep track of. A simple question just before handing the keys (oopps!) over should keep everybody happy.

I sure wish I registered before I picked up my car. My car didn’t come with either cable so I had to call the delivery specialist and they say they’ll send it to me. I asked for two lightning cables and wasn’t clear if they would be able to do or not. I’ll see what shows up in the mail.

Finally got invitation to and configured last weeks, supposedly 3-6 weeks until delivery...

We're an all Android household, so have absolutely ZERO use for a lightning cable. Assuming I can't get them to give us 2 two USB-C cables instead of 1 and 1, we'll have one Lightning to trade for one USB-C in a couple of weeks...?

I'm guessing from reading here that most likely the delivery center will be flush with extra USB-C's - so just ask.

True enough, but it sounds like the car is supposed to come with 1 Lightning and 1 USB (though there seems to be some confusion about whether it's Micro USB or USB-C, I'll need 2x of USB-C). I just figured I'd put it out there; but yeah, I'm hoping they'll let me have 2 USB-C from the start (as they should be ANY permutation that the customer wants)...
