Model 3 referral program?

I wonder if the existing referral program will apply to Model 3... (?)

In terms of Model 3 owners getting referral credits for helping other people decide to buy Model 3, but also Model S/X owners referring customers to Model 3 or Model 3 owners referring people to buy model S/X.

The situation seems a little different given how much backlog demand there is for Model 3. Has anyone heard anything about their plans for a referral program related to Model 3?

Everything I've seen and heard has been focused on referral credits for sales of Model X or S. I think there is so much backlog right now for Model 3 that it will be a few years before they might include the 3 in the program. Maybe if a 3 owner sells an X or S, though.

But again, haven't heard anything re the 3.

You might get something for referring, but I'm not so sure Tesla is giving $1,000 off to the purchaser on 400,000 cars.

I would suspect the referral program for the Model 3 will take a different form (or not exist) until they can get that wait list down a little

given the volume of pre-orders for the Model 3, it'll probably be either nothing or something lame like a certain number of free supercharger credits per referral.

If they do offer a referral discount on Model 3 orders, you can be sure that they raised the price $1,000 first.

Seems like they could keep the program but cut rewards/discounts in half. Hopefully a Model 3 owner can at least refer others to get an S/X. Cutting the 3 out of the program will make 3 owners feel even more like 2nd class citizens.

Now that is a very good point.
The current system isn't a model specific referral code.
Adding 400,000 new referral opportunities would be well worth it

Are you hoping for test drive before you order or are you all in? Looks like mine will be about month after yours as mine is Dec-Feb.

It would be nice to get a test drive for sure, but not a requirement.
Having lived with the foibles of the Leaf for three years it will be a refreshing change.
