Hello All – New TMC member from Iowa. We will probably soon order a Model 3.
We use a hitch mounted, tray-style bike rack to carry 1-2 fairly light non-e bikes. I have read TMC discussions of the stealth hitch and presume that we will go with that solution to carry our Saris tray.
We are fine with some interference with the rearward camera visibility. But there are scattered comments in other TMC threads about how the proximity sensors respond to the presence of a tray-style bike rack. Could some of you with experience using a hitch-mounted, tray-style bike rack comment on how sensor functionality changed, audible alarms, etc., and strategies to live with how the Tesla “sees” the tray rack?
Thanks in advance for sharing your experience.
