Model 3 Seats Comfort?

Hi All,

Would anyone be able to advise on how comfortable the Model 3 seats are?

My commute is normally at least an hour each way, I've always found SUV/MPV cars which sit higher to be more comfortable to drive then saloon counterparts as I'm blighted by the occasional back pain.

I've signed up for a test drive Model 3 but not holding my breath so would appreciate any feedback from owners.
Any advice would be much appreciated?

As comfortable as my 17plate 3 series M sport and 16 plate C Class AMG (if not a bit softer to sit on) however the side bolsters aren’t as good, do the seats don’t “hug” around corners quite as well

When I first got in I did my usual get it up high, tip the seat forward a bit as advised by a back specialist. Over a few 100 miles I decided it was acceptable but I was really struggling to get the lumbar support right. Then I sank it down a few inches and re-adjusted everything and its -much- more comfortable now.

There might me a member near your area that would let you sit longer and fiddle more than a test drive would?

The front seats are very good. Certainly better than the 3 series I just had, but not so good as the 5 I had before that. Rears are ok, but the seat squab is a little low so there's too little support under the thighs. Might get tiring in the back on long journeys.

I think they are as good as they get. They have both an upper and lower lumbar adjustment which along with the other adjustments makes the seats quite comfortable.

I find the seat quite neutral, i.e. I don’t really notice it. It isn’t striking as consciously comfortable, but I’ve never found it uncomfortable.

When you have your test drive, ask about easy entry/exit as this may be helpful to you if back pain is inevitable at some point regardless of the driving position.

I'm in Cardiff if you need to test. Generally I'd say it's quite a low seating position. I was used to a Leaf previously, which is very upright.

Hi adsheff,
I've just signed up on here after searching for any posts relating to Model 3 seat comfort.
I've been looking to get a Model 3 and have been to test drive a couple of times, however I didn't have enough time to adjust my seat as much as I'd like in order to be 100% sure of its comfort. Do you still have your Model 3 and would you still be open to someone sitting in it and adjusting the seating position?

Thanks in advance,
JD

Cardiff is supposed to have a Service Centre (coming soon - which in Elon time means "before the end of the year" but without saying which year!) I'm sure they'd give you a test drive... or a test sit.

The seats are very adjustable and fit my average height but bulky frame well. Love the way you can have profiles such as "Easy Entry"

Search for a thread called "Massage Parlour" for a Chinese after-market gadget that manipulates the lumbar supports to give you a massage while driving. Not tried, sounds good, though.

I find the front seats very comfortable. Shame the passenger seat doesn’t have memory settings (One for Elon to note) ours is adjusted for my wife which is awful for me. I’d change it on a 20 mile trip but can’t be bothered otherwise.
Rear seats - had worse. 5th seat - had much worse.
I used to suffer a numb bum on long trips, but not in the M3

Interesting how people have different opinions. I find the M3P seats massively uncomfortable compared to my current car. It takes me a while fiddling with the seat to get a decent portion. This shouldn't be the case, especially in the passenger seat
