Model 3 sighting in the wild

A friend of mine told me that he saw a Model 3 in south Orange County, CA yesterday; in brown paint with no test mule camouflage wrappings.
Further AP testing on the infamous I-405? Maybe an employee taking one of the Hawthorne demo cars home for the night?

My question is though, why wouldn't they retrofit a Model S with updated hardware if they want to test on open roads? Would draw less attention, maybe.

If you looks at the video, the model 3 is following a Model S with a big motion picture camera mounted on a boom hanging off the back. It looks like Tesla is making some promotional videos around the LA area.

A lot of people seem to be mistaking model X for model 3.

There is a big difference in size but all three S, X, and 3 have a family resemblance. The video is definitely a Model 3 though.

Wow, nice catch. That appears to be the silver 3 shown at the reveal. Great to see it moving in daylight, it's gorgeous.
