Model 3 Software Version 2018.26.x has lock confirmation sounds

What is a cellular only build? I have both ...

The build I was on, believe it was 2018.21.9, was installed when they worked on my car in early June. It had no way for the end user to configure WiFi (could not select a network, nor enter a password). I believe that functionality was added in late June/early July.

WiFi was already configured for Tesla's network though, and it connected right away when I pulled up to the Service Center. I wonder if it would have downloaded the update on its own if I just stayed there long enough.

Well this sucks. My phone notified that I have a update. When I got to the car. There’s no update. No little yellow clock either.

I'm on 26.3 be4b11e and the horn honk is pretty low volume. I rather have a beep like a Prius but this is fine. Better than silent where I have to turn around everyday to watch for the mirrors to fold.

I could not get it to make any sound at all when closing my driver's door partially.

Try leaving the trunk ajar and not latched to see if that triggers the error sound while attempting to lock. (Don't do that when it rains or sprinklers are on, since that will dump water into the trunk.)

I’m sure he will. I believe he’s bemoaning the thought of having to listen to all these “ private” communication beeps between a car and it’s owner. And now he’ll have to listen to yours too.

I think you can turn this off in the settings, but why would you want to? Less chance of damage if they’re folded when parked.

I can’t find it. I spent two days looking. I swear it was there before.

Can you point me to the exact screen?

I usually park in places that’s wide enough. So I don’t think I need to wear out my motors lol

Edit: Dang!!! It’s hidden well. I looked there. But didn’t click into the mirrors. I thought that was to adjust the mirrors. Didn’t remember there was more settings.

You can disable the mirror auto fold feature on the same screen that you use to adjust the position of the mirrors.

Controls > Quick Controls > Mirrors > Mirror Auto Fold​

Awww man. I can’t customize the beeps. It’s all or nothing. I wanted beep for lock confirmation but don’t want any sound to tell people when I unlock the car.

Finally got 26.3 today, after being stuck on 21.9 for an eternity (aka 2 months)!

Looking forward to trying cabin overheat protection tomorrow.
