Model 3 Steering wheel module function?

We are recently doing some work for the client for cool steering wheel for model 3. We like to ask you guys about the bottom module like pc board, what's the function of this panel? And this panel have any function for detect or this is only a unit for the two control roller?

Help me to find out experts.

There are no components on the PCB itself so my educated guess is this might be an upgradable feature in the future.
Possibly a placeholder for an easy swap or a thru-hole attachment.

It kind of looks like an ODB plug, could this be the Bluetooth ODB for the tesla's in the future?

Based on the shadows, the board looks like it's not resting directly on the table, so there could be thin components on the other side.
