model 3 stopping while backing out of garage

While very slowly backing out of our tight squeeze garage the Tesla sometimes stops abruptly. Today it did that and threw itself into P where it froze for a short period of time- could not move the vehicle.
We have a flag hanging off of the garage that is behind and to the left of the vehicle and it sometimes waves in the wind. Could this be creating a "pedestrian stop" warning?

Also when starting up the nav screen often pops up with a strange destination and starts navigating there. Any ideas?

You either need to keep your butt in the seat or have your seat belt buckled. If your seat belt isn't buckled and it detects you lift your butt/shift your weight it thinks you are exiting the vehicle and shifts into park.
