How about we have a thread for tips. This is on firmware 2017.50.10:
- To avoid unlocking the car every time you come close to it with a phone key (usually in an attached garage), disable Walk-up Unlock under Car settings->Locks->Settings. Car will now only unlock when you pull a door handle or push the trunk button.
- If the car doesn’t unlock, make sure the Model 3 is the active car in the Tesla app.
- To close an overlay window like the Car settings, rear camera, and phone list, just tap outside of it (like on the speedometer or the car icon below it). Easier than hunting for the X button.
- The music strip can be expanded/shrunk by swiping up/down on it instead of hunting for the ^/v button.
- If the green/yellow/red traffic display isn’t updating on the map disable and re-enable traffic data by tapping on the map and tapping on th the traffic light button twice.
- If the rear camera window shows up black or black with backup lines, close and re-open the rear camera window.
- If all else fails, try rebooting the display by holding down the 2 steering wheel buttons.
- A hard reboot can also be done by parking the car and holding down the 2 steering wheel buttons plus the brake.
