Model 3 trunk beeping twice and stopping halfway?

Quick update on mine: I got a new strut installed (took 2mins) - It's like a brand new boot now

I’ve been at 2022.20.7 for a few weeks now, no trunk freakiness and no sentry freakiness at all during this time..

So now it's November and we are at 2022.40.4.1. Trunk opening became erratic a week ago and now consistently will only unlatch and open a few inches and then beeps twice. We tried recalibrating to no effect. Is there a general consensus for what's wrong? We'll be asking Tesla Service later today but not feeling confident.
