    Hi All

I am wondering if anyone here has any information on the web browser. In one report, I heard that the web browser is buttery smooth like in an iPad. I wonder how true that is.

A buttery smooth web browser? There is a better chance that you could drive it off a cliff and discover that it flies like a buttery smooth glider.

Is there anyone that thinks there will be a web browser for our Free Internet For Life Model 3's? Maybe one that lets you watch Netflix while charging? If there is WiFi at the Superchargers even the new non-Premium cars could use it.

I remember for-ever they have been promising the MS and MX owners they would get a new improved browser, perhaps that's what we are waiting for?

No what? No one thinks there will be a web browser for the 3? No Netflix capability on the browser? No, the MS/X isn't getting upgraded browsers?

I was thinking they would need to ADD services to the cars to make them attractive to people thinking of paying for premium connectivity. There are a bunch of apps already for the Tesla that uses the browser like the early iPhones did. Others keep talking about there being a Tesla app store someday. Why would you think there will be no browser for the 3? Just to keep the S and the X the premium models?

The S and X got a new browser with the new MCU2 in April. Multimedia is still disabled.

Tesla App Store may be like swapable batteries. Seemed like a good idea at the time but turns out to be not worth the trouble.

Would be crazy if that's what Elon is doing. All the cars produced after 6/30/18 will come with a StarLink (whatever it's called) modem and antenna so that in the future when that service is up and running all the newer cars will be able to subscribe to Elon's Space Internet for cheap or free.

I think an open web browser would compromise the security of the vehicle.

Keep in mind starlink is supposed to serve two main purposes. To bring high speed internet to all parts of the world, and to serve as a money maker for SpaceX to fund Martian endeavors. Not to mention it's still got to pay for itself. I'm not sure how cheap this'll be, realistically.
