HUD is proper solution. Expect Tesla will eventually incorporate one.

Curious, was the main screen going blank just a glitch fixed by a reboot or did it need a service center visit?

It was one of those random glitches. I pulled over at some point, looked up online how to reset the screen (I think you push and hold both scroll wheels) and a few minutes later the screen came back on.

I’ve been keeping my eye in this HUF because, unlike other aftermarket displays I’ve seen, it is advertised as being able to display the autopilot status icon and the set speed.

But I noticed that the estimated release date has been pushed out by 4 months vs last time I checked. (The website used to say Aug 1, 2023, now it says Dec 1, 2023.)
