Hey all

Been reading so much on Model Y tyre size + wheels and am getting a little confused so thought best to start my own thread.

I am wanting to put 20" tyres (aftermarket) and 20" wheels (aftermarket) on a Model Y.

1. Tesla suggest that the correct tyre size is 255/40/R20. Is this the recommended tyre size for Model Y if wanting to go 20"? Or is there a slightly bigger size better? I ask because I know on the Model 3 that for 19", 235/40/R19 is recommended, however 245/40/R19 is also possible.

2. There's not many 20x9.5 wheels out there and I know this is the recommended wheel size from Tesla. Any issues going 20x9 or 20x8.5 (I'm assuming 20x9 would be best). Or is 20x9.5 the way to go?

3. I know bolt pattern is 5/114.3. Tesla suggest offset should be between 40-45 (is that on 20x9.5 only?). If I changed to say 20x9, should the offset still be 40-45 or something else?

4. Tesla say Centre Bore (CB) is 64.1. Do the new wheels have to be CB 64.1 also?

Thanks so much!!

Ok. For Question 1, I did some more reading and found out Model Y can also have 255/45/R20 tyres and they seem to fit the car perfectly with no rubbing, even with 5 people in the car. However, speedo will be out by around 2% (which isn't a lot actually)...I'd prefer speedo to be accurate so I'll stick with aftermarket 255/40/R20.

Question 2/3 - I assume 20x9 wheels will be fine? Does offset for these still need to be 40-45 or does offset change given they are no longer 20x9.5 like the factory induction wheels.

Question 4 - I have no idea. Read conflicting infomration on the internet. CB 64.1 doesn't seem to be common? Does CB then change if I go to 20x9 wheels?
