Wiki Model Accessories Mega List / Cheat Sheet

This site may earn commission on affiliate links.
I have compiled a list of all the Model Y accessories that I find useful, to possibly save other members the hours of research I’ve done, and lessons learnt from accessories that either did or didn’t work well on my M3.

I haven’t included items that I think are pointless, such as the screen protector, which is not necessary for protection on a screen that can’t be dropped, and not necessary for cleaning as the screen is very easy to clean with a dry microfibre cloth, and also not necessary for preventing reflections as I’ve had no issues with reflections at all.

If anyone has any suggestions for decent accessories then please share them, if I buy any of them I’ll add them to the list.

In no particular order:

  1. Tesla key fob: Model 3/Y Key Fob - Makes opening frunk and unlocking charge port much more convenient, also acts as a keycard even if fob battery runs out, meaning you don’t need to carry a keycard.
  2. Tesla console accessory trays: https://shop.tesla.com/en_gb/product/model-3_y-console-accessory-trays - Tesla don’t include these for free anymore!
  3. Power boot lid foot sensor: https://www.greendrive-accessories.com/en/products/302/-rear-trunk-lid-with-foot-tesla-model-3-2021-3701388104935.html - Great for opening the boot when your hands are full.
  4. Boot side storage bins: https://tessories.uk/product/model-y-boot-storage-bins/ - Just over half the price of the genuine Tesla ones.
  5. Ultra bright boot LED: https://tessories.uk/product/model-y-boot-light/ - Much brighter than the standard little light.
  6. Cup holder stabiliser: https://tessories.uk/product/model-y-3-cup-holder-stabilizer/ - Still allows use of big bottles, but keeps smaller ones steadier.
  7. Jack pads: Jack Pads for Tesla – Tessories - Essential if you have a jack without a large rubber saddle.
  8. 3D all weather floor mats: Amazon.co.uk - 80.59US $ 54% OFF|For Tesla Model 3 Car Waterproof Non slip Floor Mat TPE XPE Modified Car Accessories Fully Surrounded Model Y Special floor mats|Floor Mats| - AliExpress - Great for winter use, keep the carpet mats nice for summer.
  9. Sandisk 128gb max endurance microSD card: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B084CJ9T2R?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title&th=1 and USB adapter: https://www.amazon.co.uk/SanDisk-SDDR-B531-GN6NN-MobileMate-USB-Reader/dp/B07G5JV2B5?pd_rd_w=HNYZj&pf_rd_p=93639d66-4333-47a2-9afc-2b6ef148d92c&pf_rd_r=Q8AT2W8A033P40RS4ED8&pd_rd_r=10bd3e12-165f-4107-9860-22483eaa02ed&pd_rd_wg=aV1Zg&pd_rd_i=B07G5JV2B5&psc=1&ref_=pd_bap_m_rp_1_sc - Tesla USB stick is not designed to be constantly written to.
  10. Kwmobile keyfob cover: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B07SPL9NB6?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title - Protects keyfob, enables it to be attached to a keyring, and makes finding the buttons easier.
  11. Real carbon fibre spoiler: https://www.greendrive-accessories.com/en/products/511/-6329-performance-spoiler-tesla-model-y.html#/1421-type_of_carbon-carbon_matt - I have the matte one, which looks identical to the Tesla Performance spoiler.
  12. 2022 Stainless steel pedals: https://www.greendrive-accessories.com/en/products/205/-8442-custom-pedals-tesla-model-3-and-tesla-model-y-3701388102610.html#/1143-color-grey/1772-tesla_model-tesla_model_3_and_tesla_model_y_after_2022 - Make sure to get 2022 ones, the brake pedal one is curved and doesn’t have the cross on the back now.
  13. Frunk shopping bag hooks: Front Trunk Hanging Hooks for Model Y – Tessories
  14. Boot shopping bag hooks: Model Y Trunk Hanging Hooks – Tessories
  15. Black door latch covers: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/255269868872?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=o7ttrtJrT3u&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=rnqCLcR6T8S&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY - OK not essential, but I like them.
  16. Tesla Frunk carpet mat: https://shop.tesla.com/en_gb/product/model-y-carpet-front-trunk-mat - Very cheap for genuine Tesla!
  17. Matte black Tesla T badge covers: https://m.aliexpress.com/item/1005003266039362.html?spm=a2g0n.order_detail.0.0.46cff19cC4o1ym - Don’t bother with the replacement metal black badges, I had them on the M3 and they corroded from the winter road salt!
  18. Paint touch up pen: TESLA DEEP BLUE PEARL PPSB TOUCH UP PEN REPAIR PAINT BRUSH SCRATCH MODEL X S | eBay
  19. Temai phone mount: https://www.amazon.co.uk/TEMAI-Model-Gravity-Phone-Mount/dp/B09B6X8131/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=3NX5PSLJBXMDA&keywords=temai+model+3&qid=1648981237&sprefix=temai,aps,52&sr=8-3 - Great for Google maps, Waze or Apple maps.
  20. Mud flaps: https://tessories.uk/product/model-y-mud-flaps/ - Much better looking than the standard front flaps.
  21. Coloured front footwell ambient LEDs: Footwell Mood Light - Tesla Model 3 and Y or colour changing version: https://www.greendrive-accessories.com/en/products/661/-variable-color-rgb-led-light-with-remote-control-for-tesla-3701388107264.html - Such a shame Tesla didn’t include colour change ambient lighting like most other manufacturers!
  22. Coloured rear footwell ambient LED strips: https://www.greendrive-accessories.com/en/products/498/-6109-ambient-lighting-in-the-rear-footwell-tesla-model-3-and-model-y.html#/1295-color-white - Add some light to the rear footwells.

Has anyone got these from green drive, I got some from tessories and they look crap and more like plastic than metal...I got some for my current M3 (Amazon I think) and they were great quality and still look great now 3 years on.

I can add the Tesmat privacy screen for those going camping. Bought direct and arrived in 4 days. There is a certain UK based EV site selling the exact same thing for 3 times the price so buy direct.

has anybody bought this recently? It got delivered to me without the hooks and the suction cups. Unfortunately they don't rely to my emails....

P.S. I posted the spoiler rant here rather than the "Q2 Grad' thread because, if you are anything like I was pre-deliver, you will be checking out a lot of after market accessories.

In other business:

This morning, I installed two Tesla Brand accessories and I am delighted with both:

1. The boot corner Bins with their carpeted lids. These give a great flush floor look. They also act as a great storage container.
2. The rear seats dog liner. So easy to pop on and off. It looks the "business" (unfortunate choice of word). However, I have not tested it with our little madam. (We love her really).

Looks like the official UK Tesla shop has been restocked... just ordered some centre consol storage bins for my pending Y delivery.

The 'email me when back in stock' option clearly does not work....
Along with some price increases. The roof rack is now £23 more expensive than when I purchased it 3 months ago…

Who needs email when back in stock, when we have this forum 🤣

Thanks for that. I am on the "we will let you know - honest Guv email" as well, for a couple of items including the console trays/bins. Not a dicky!

...Tobes hits the nail on the head once again 😂.

In other news: My Karcher K4 is here. As is the replacement main hose; 15 meters of manageable flexible hose to replace the OEM one. Everything Karcher does gets better except that awful brittle, unmanageable hose from the machine to the lance.....doze daze is gorn Papi!

Also bought a short trigger, a suction hose and a very large container of deionised water for her final rise. So SWMBO - prepare yourself...........

Anyone recommend and outdoor cover that isn't the official one?

Looking for one without the logo.

Thanks
Sorry, I have the Tesla outdoor which I find excellent. I went through the thought process of pros and cons of the visible logo and decided that:

If you have the logo, the bast..ds know it's a Tesla. If you have an unmarked one, the risk is that they lift the cover up to see what's underneath and discover that......... it's a Tesla!

Also, I love the way the OEM cover fits over the mirrors and folds in nicely with them. It also has a flap which provides access for charging.
Most importantly, and this will need to be replicated if you buy an after market cover, there is a mesh panel down low at the front to allow the air intake to function. This is very important when the car is parked.

Breaking News : Lottie Dog, who having been driven around Europe and found the experience quite agreeable has, since her last trip before Covid, taken a turn against travelling in the X3; she yaps and squeaks and barks.

But joy of joys, she took to the Tesla's 2nd row dog protection hammock thing, like the proverbial duck to water. She also likes that there is a mesh panel between the two front seats which affords her a view of the "flight deck". Whilst there is enough dried grass on the hammock to feed a horse, curtesy of the dry weather and Lottie's coat, I am confident that the seats are unharmed by her presence. The soft whoosh as MY Lizzie glides along may also provide a calming influence.
Not sure about the 0 to 60 dash though!

Hey thanks for your reply/thoughts. I was thinking the same about people lifting it up. Maybe I'll just go for the official one!

I know many were interested in these so finally my wheel hub cap covers came from AliExpress

Added some photos, they look great. imo, fair better than the stock gemini wheel covers,
The originals aren't the easiest thing to get off, you have to use a fair bit of force, some of them you can squeeze the clips from behind and pull and they pop forward and once the first one is off they generally come off with brute force then. The youtube videos make it seem much easier than it is, but once I got the hang of it I did it fairly quickly

The new ones line up with the air valve and away you go, simple.

Quality is really good and look great with the Tesla logo on the centre too
These look great! The link you posted earlier for AliExpress is no longer working. Do the covers have a brand name/model number so I can search for them? I’ve looked on AliExpress and there are some subtle differences between different listings.

Thanks
