It looks like it might be another year before we get some more super chargers in Wyoming. My current plan is to use RV parks to make it out of the state on long trips. I could plugin to a 50amp 240 for an hour or two and take a bike ride. I was looking at the threads on folding bikes and and how the D frunk is abit smaller. So do you think there are any folding bikes that would still fit in the D's frunk?
LOL! Funny, what about a Citizen Tokyo? Citizen Bike folding bike shop | Portable & Folding Bikes | TOKYO Citizen Bike 16" 6-speed Folding Bike with Ultra-Portable Frame Does any one know the D frunk dimensions? I can't seem to find them on the Tesla website.
No dice on the Tokyo then, Folded size 31x22x14.5 inches. Schwinn Loop is too big too Folded Size: 16″ x 32.5″ x 26″
Found something, kind of a joke. better off with some roller blades or just running at this point. 27.6” 15.8” 8” New 8inch Black Folding Foldable Mini Bike Travel Bicycle City Town Bicycle USA | eBay
I don't think you'll find anything that could be considered a "bike" that will fit. The wheels of a 16" bike would barely fit, much less the rest of the bike. Folded dimensions are always bigger than the wheel size. You could remove the wheels, but then it would not be as compact and the frunk would not have enough depth to hold it. Maybe try a 16" unicycle?
Photos of a Brompton and a Dahon in the frunk of a late 2013 S85. If the microwave is gone, I don't see how the Dahon would fit, but I would expect that the Brompton would still fit.
These are the two best folding bike dealers I know of: ThorUSA (I bought a Dahon from here) NYCeWheels - your place for Electric Bikes, Folding Bikes and Kick Scooters This is the most active folding bike forum: Folding Bikes
I have an 85D and two Citizen Gotham folding bikes and they definitely will NOT fit in the frunk. However, lots of room in the back and I can get both of them plus camping gear, etc. in the back.
