This would actually make good sense. The taxis here in Oslo are mostly E-series MBs and they do spend a lot of time idling at Taxi stops. If you can trickle charge everytime you are not driving and a few quick-charge stations reserved for taxies and you should be good.

On thing I forgot, the author of that article uses the Euro <> Dollar conversion to calculate the Model S price.

As we see with the Roadster, the base price in the US is $101.000, where it is EUR 84.000. That is a rate of 1.2, where the euro is at 1.34 right now.

Converting the base price of the Model S again, $57.000 / 1.2 = EUR 47500 as a base price for the Model S. Not the 36.000 he says.

Yes, but the 60k was with the extra options. But he took a base-price of 36k. Adding the bigger battery when the base is 47k, you won't make it with 60k I think.

I think a loaded Model S with a lot of options will cost you around 80k

I would assume so. I have never seen any other pictures of a yellow Model S prototype, and it would make sense that they mocked up something for the story.

Thanks TEG. That is a good photo angle. The alpha build just does not look that good from the same perspective.

The prototype, has been about 10 different colors to date. They have repainted it a number of times to fit the scene it was going to be in, or where the event it was on display would be.

You can see the different shades up close, where some idiot broke the drivers side mirror off

Some friends were in Amsterdam earlier this year and mentioned the hundreds of Model S taxis there. I don't mind the thought of Model S taxis...but don't want them crowding the Superchargers.

Was down at the Denver Supercharger, and a guy was charging who uses his Tesla as an "Uber Black" car. Even had the LL #s Taxis need in Denver on the car.

Seems like Tesla should assess a special Supercharger use fee for commercial operators of Model S and X. Though how they would know about an Uber Black use is not clear. I'd expect this guy's Colorado limo registration would be in a public database?
