Model S - Battery replacement cost

I keep seeing this asked so many times on this forum and other sites. But since most of the cars are under 8 year warranty there was no definitive answer.

I saw on some Model S group that Tesla wanted $24,000 to replace battery on a S60. The guy has 126,000 miles and this is the pre-2015 model with 125K mile warranty(not unlimited miles like most of the cars)

So its $24,000 to replace a battery and not $10K like Elon said at some point
